The segment is a part of the header blade of a JOHN DEERE combine.
Destination
Being a part of the blade, the segment provides a clean cut of the stalk, which minimizes grain losses. It is especially important when gathering overripe grain. It is used to replace worn or damaged parts during repair work.
Properties
The steel plate of trapezoidal shape with sharp lateral sides is made of stainless steel and hardened in order to increase its resistance tobreakage and wear-out. There are two holes for mounting at the basis. The segment is attached to the blade back by means of rivets or bolt connection.
