Designation

Piston rings are used in internal combustion engines. Devided into compression or oil-control ring. Compression rings are designed to prevent pulling gas from the cylinder into the crankcase and oil-control rings prevent the penetration of oil into the combustion chamber.

Properties

Rings are made of iron or steel in a form of round elastic rings with a cut. Oil-control ring differs from compression ring as it has a number of pass-through openings, through which the oil falls under the ring, and then enters the crankcase.
