900 series of diesel engines Mercedes-Benz

In 1996, there were radical technological changes in the family of heavy engines Mercedes-Benz. 900 Series debut came in the spring and was characterized by the emergence of new innovative elements: electronic management system, direct injection of fuel through separate pumps for each cylinder. 900 series set the standard for environmental and efficiency in its class. Already produced more than a million of these engines. Mercedes-Benz once again confirmed the position of technology leader in the production of diesel engines.

1.Engine Mercedes OM 906 LA

The diesel engine manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The engine is a four-stroke, volume 6375 cubic centimeters, that corresponds to 385 cubic inches. It represents 900 series engines, which replaced the 300 series and began to develop after the crisis of the 1980s. Specifically OM 906 LA was released in 1996 and replaced its predecessor - OM 364 LA, which gave at 6-cylinder 155 hp.

These engines begin 900  series and designed according to the requirements of environmental norms Euro II. OM 906 engines are very popular and widely used since the early 2000s in heavy engineering and at powerful vans. OM 906 LA is used in combine harvesters. Designation "LA" indicates turboversion of the engine. In particular, OM 906A drives the combine harvester CLAAS Medion 330.

2. Engine Mercedes OM 926 LA

The diesel engine manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The engine is a four-stroke, volume of 7201 cubic centimeters, that corresponds to 435 cubic inches. It is one of 900 series of engines, replaced the 300 series of engines and began to develope after the 1980s crisis. Specifically OM 926 LA was released in 1998 and replaced the predecessor - OM 366 A, which gave at 6 cylinder 170 hp

With the introduction of environmental norms Euro II to replace engines of 300 series came 900 series. These engines are very popular and widely used in the 1980s in heavy engineering and cargo.  OM 926 LA are used in combine harvesters. Designation "LA" indicates turboversion of the engine. Specifically OM 926 LA drives the combine harvester CLAAS Tucano.
