Designation

Piston - cylindrical detail of internal combustion engine that performs reciprocation within the liner and is used to convert gas pressure into mechanical work.

Properties

The piston consists of three parts, which perform specific functions:
- The bottom;
- Sealing part;
- Directing part.

The bottom and sealing part form the piston head. To transfer the force from the piston (or vice versa), use the rod that connects with the piston by means of finger.
