The designation of the lock:

Connecting link serves for combining roller chain segments ending with inner links (rollers), or closing the chain with an odd number of links.

Lock structure:

The connecting link (lock) consists of two plates with two fingers pressed in one of them . When closing the chain, another plate is worn on the fingers and is fixed to the link with the help of pin or a special spring locking bracket.
