Combine harvester CLAAS CORSAR

Combine harvester CLAAS CORSAR

Having conquered a range of family farm enterprises, the Claas Columbus was replaced by more modern Consul, Cosmos, Comet and Corsar models. The Consul combine is endowed with typical “Claas” design. The small-sized combines Comet, Cosmos, Corsar were supplied with 80 cm threshing aggregate, and the Consul combine – with 106 cm threshing aggregate. These series of combines is characterized by large enough dimension of threshing aggregate with relatively low-power engine.

The main distinction of these combines is engines of different brands and power. The Comet combine was fitted with 29 or 38 horsepower engine of Volkswagen brand, 34 horsepower of Perkins brand. The engine of Ford or Perkins brand (45 hp) was installed in the Cosmos combines. The engine of Perkins brand (52 hp) was typical for the Corsar combine, Ford or Deutz engines could be installed optionally. The Consul combine was equipped with 68 hp engine of Perkins or Mercedes-Benz production.

The combines had more modern design. The special feature of the Consul combine was hydrostatic drive. The grain tanks were of large-capacity, the height of delivery screw conveyor is regulated, allowing to discharge grain into the bags.
