A new series of Massey Ferguson combines was presented in 1978 by the MF-440 model. as prototype the MF-506 combine served . The new design header with widespread system of hydraulic regulation on height was mounted into this harvester.  

One year later in 1979 the following MF-240 model of this  series  which replaced the MF-206 combine was introdused. Feature of this model were 26 inches size tires which considerably improved passability of the harvest combine.
