Connecting link serves for combining roller chain segments ending with inner links (rollers), or closing the chain with an odd number of links.

Lock structure:

The connecting link (lock) consists of two plates with two fingers pressed in one of them. When closing the chain, another plate is worn on the fingers and is fixed to the link with the help of pin or a special spring locking bracket.
